WEBS is a consortium of partners, each with a proven track record of successfully delivering education business activities. Our integrated structure comprises a Consortium Management Group and three Local Partnership Boards. These Boards inform the Management Group about local needs and priorities, and are vital in ensuring we deliver an efficient and effective service to local communities.

Construction Industry Training Board

CITB aims to provide links between pupils, teachers & schools and the construction/built environment sector to:

Support work-related learning within the national curriculum for pupils 5-19
Support vocational education for pupils at KS4
Provide increased career awareness of the construction industry associated professions
Increase the understanding of young people about the vital role the construction industry plays in our lives and the economy

Engineering Education Scheme

The Engineering Education Scheme encourages the most able Year 12 students to consider engineering as their professional career by enabling them to work in teams on significant industrial engineering projects through partnership between schools/colleges and local companies during a six month period.

Setpoint

"A SETPOINT is the Single point of contact supporting the development of the Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics (STEM) agenda in a Local Learning and Skills Council (LLSC) for the 5-18 range".

All SETPOINTS share a number of characteristics:

they know and understand the school system in the UK
they are well versed in the current curriculum requirements for science, technology and mathematics
they have many years experience in schools/industry links
they believe passionately that more young people should be aware of the challenge and excitement of engineering and should consider a future in this discipline at a level which fits their capabilities

As such, they provide the vital link between national or local schemes supported by industry and the schools.
